City officials recently urged residents to make “casual eye contact” with the homeless and say hello, or at least smilehttps://nyti.ms/2KqNKc2

The difference between NYC's homeless & LA's is the number of abandoned buildings is lower in CA, so they tend to sleep outside. In NYC, the glitterati insist they get swept up, restricted from being in plain view. Plus, the winter is a stone cold biotch.

people end up homeless 4 many reasons, but they are humans who deserve respect. I rarely carry cash, but i have a lot of interesting conversations which i hope bring them as much enjoyment as they bring me. Everyone has a story. Take a sec to listen.

Eye contact and a smile. That'll fix it. Not as good as providing homes for the homeless, but a close second. WOO-HOO!

Good lord, I have always done this (in addition to giving tangible help) because, gee, I'M A DECENT HUMAN BEING. The fact that city officials must urge others to extend the merest acknowledgment to others is one of the reasons we have who we have in the White House.

Bus them up into the Hollywood hills where the liberal folks will no doubt welcome them into their homes and bank accounts. @latimes

You assume everyone could get a job, You assume everyone earning minimum wage makes enough to cover their bills, You assume homeless people are actually lazy & looking for charity. It would be interesting to know how many company you own & how many homeless people you've employed
