Mexico just lost to Brazil, their seventh straight round-two exit. Ahead of the 2018 World Cup, the team hired a mental coach to try and break the streak.https://nyti.ms/2MEHFFC

We, México, were close. We beat Germany, that's a big effort. I just hope that my people uplift our Mexican team. They tried, did a good job. I am proud of them, good job México!

Not even a mental health coach could break the curse for Mexico🇲🇽 !!! What they needed was a good ol’ fashioned #Curandero!!pic.twitter.com/GAXGdFeflv

My apologies to anyone who felt this tweet downplayed the serious psychological harm done to so many Mexicans who have internalized racist messages about inferiority. This is a real problem that we as society must seek to constantly fix even when making snarky sports tweets.

Brazil was probably favored, and my guess is "bet" money played a role in some of the game's calls.

Neymar rolling around on the ground again... from imaginary tackle lol. So in this case Neymar is probably getting what he deserves. But Congrats to Brazil in there win. Imo a match should never be considered lost because of bad calls, but it's part of the sport unfortunately.
