Breaking News: Kentucky’s plan for work rules for Medicaid, the first in the U.S., was blocked. It’s likely a setback for some states with similar proposals.https://nyti.ms/2Mwxqmu

I see so many young healthy women on Medicaid getting it all free while I pay 200.00 per Week for BCBS and then still had to pay 344.00 for an ER trip. So yes, if they are able to work they need to work. Even to keep the roadside clean a few hours a week would be a start.

I get your frustration but please remember not all people who look healthy are healthy! I had trouble holding down jobs for awhile b/c of Asperger's & felt quite ashamed to go on Medicaid. Believe me, I'd rather have been able to work.

I can’t find my way back to the original post (old people twitter) but I do get it and know so many people who work hard, need assistance and can’t qualify for some reason. It is frustrating. Very.

Ty for the kind & thoughtful reply :) We really ought to introduce a tiered system with lower rates for people who work but don't make a ton instead of "free vs. pay for your own & others' health insurance". People in the middle are hurt more than the rich by this, it's horrible

So many people would fall through the cracks. People with chronic pain who would need 10+ breaks a day are deemed 'able to work.' So they have to choose to exacerbate thier conditions or go without medical advice and medications. This plan sucks.

What about single parents with little children? Or those providing homecare for a family member?

The plan sucks because policy makers don't have a clue (or even care, really) about the reality for many Americans

You can always choose not to obey and fight for what’s right. If everyone who believed that, dropped what they were doing and marched on the Capitol. It’d all be changed tomorrow.

Great so someone's job gets downsized then they lose their healthcare too. What about those people who are too sick to work? This will kill people.
