"For me, democratic socialism is about — really, the value for me is that I believe that in a modern, moral and wealthy society, no person in America should be too poor to live," Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told Stephen Colberthttps://nyti.ms/2z08XEu

even in democratic socialism, the rich get poor, and poor get more poor.

What r your examples? I live in Norway & my income is quite high, the wealthy r still very wealthy, we have universal healthcare but the wealthy can buy private & use both, regular folks own 2 cars a house & a cabin by the sea or mountains, go on nice vacations etc.

it's never equally divided in Norway. you're clearly loving under a very wealthy Capatilist democratic government. not socialist. just because Norway has universal healthcare, does not count as socialism.

Norway is socialist. I've spent time there and they are happier with less social issues than we have.

Your completely right, however you need to live in a socialist country like cuba to experience what socialism has done to the people of that country All the people from Cuba came here to escape it . The wealthy & middle class work hard to be successful

Cuba is poor because of the decades long sanction imposed by the bully America not because they are socialist.

Trump and the GOP are lucky #AlexandriaOcasioCortez is too young to run for POTUS (yet) because she’s someone who could win based on personality and policy! Her vision of #DemocraticSocialism is viable especially compared to his kleptocratic capitalism.

Capatalism makes evwryone richer, socialism makes everyone equal, equally poor that is. You make more? They take it and give it to someone who didnt. No incentive. Bad system.

Have you ever had to pay for groceries, gas costs, tuition / student loan, credit card debt, child care, hospital bills, rent / mortgage, legal fees, etc. when everything is going up EXCEPT your income? Most of us don’t have a fair or fighting chance in today’s rigged system.

That’s easy to say, but what is she doing to fight the fact that a 40 hour work week at minimum wage isn’t enough to afford to live. The poor keep getting poorer and rich keep getting richer. This has been the story for millennia.

Right, she just won the primary. Now she’s up against whatever the republicans throw at her. Plus she will be a freshman stateswoman. Political capital means something at the capitol.
