        He can retire when he wants and for whatever reason he wants. He does not need progressives approval or need to adhere to their desired timeline. He was appointed by Reagan. Maybe he wanted his replacement to be picked by a conservative Next session starts in October b4 midterms.

        Right, but legislators, of both parties, are a bunch of quacks who rather accuse the other side of wanting them dead, than negotiate a middle of the road agreement. They’ve given their power to the other two branches of government.
