For Republicans, the timing of Justice Kennedy's retirement couldn't be better: A conservative nominee could energize the base heading into the midtermshttps://nyti.ms/2yPst6f

As we fret about the future of SCOTUS, let’s not lose sight of the silver lining here – that the Bernie Bros and Jill Stein voters, who refused to vote for HRC, never had to compromise their principles. 🙄

The biggest problem our country faces is being one sided. One sided either way is wrong on every level and does not promote the freedom and liberty for all that our nation states as the foundation we stand on.

Exactly. Knowing the GOP's party over country motto and Trump's need for absolute loyalty above all else, they will seek the farthest right Conservative possible. People who think the only thing at stake is Roe v Wade are fooling themselves. This goes so far beyond just that.

That is the current issue at hand but down the road we may see total Dem control then we’ll have the same issue from the other side. And this coming from a registered Dem. This has been a long standing issue that needs to change. A 2 party system promotes Party over Country.

which certainly wasn't a coincidence and pushes back against the idea that Kennedy was a moderate

White men rule yet again. How very dispiriting. What's happening in the U.S is actually pretty worrying for many modern women living there. Scary times.

Mitchell w/o any integrity at all denied Garland chance until after election to "let people decide." Gorsuch w/any integrity at all should threaten to resign after election if Mitchell tries to rush appt. w/o "letting people decide." Gorsuch can make his own appt. legitimate.

#KennedyRetirement , Justice of the “#SupremeCourt”, made a true Political move 4 the GOP. #CitizensUnited , a decision made my vote less than the that of the #KochBrothers . I donate $ to political parties, but not $Multi-millions. CU Ruined USA political system. BAD decision.
