YES, GREAT. Finally we can get back to educating kids and not the care and feeding of fat communist teachers.

Taxes don’t pay for unions. This decision doesn’t affect school funding in any positive way. It will silence the advocates of better school funding.

My dad was a UAW man, I'm a union man. Always will be. But don't kid yourself. Democrats really abandoned the unions long ago. Unionism needs to bet back to a worker led movement, and get rid of union management.

I agree...you're right. Everyone abandoned unions and now we're being fed that robots will do union jobs...and we know unions help keep salaries high for every skilled worker...so is there room for everyone in todays unions...can we make things better for everyone?

Those teachers who opt out will regret it later on. The health and welfare benefits alone make belonging a good deal. Also the group insurance policies. Ppl are so foolish.

One of the first things Republicans did when they started on their fiery downfall was to convince workers they should pass Right to Work Laws. As a result, union membership declined and workers obtained the right to remain in perpetual financial distress.

Simple. Readers Digest version - compare the median income for right to work regions before and after the manufacturing plants opened.

You know some auto manufacturers encourage union participation. And that since they located their businesses on some of the poorest areas of the country where unemployment was high because of Bush policies that median employment was bound to go up even if McDonalds located there.
