A year and a half after a New York Times correspondent was kicked out of Venezuela, he returned to see how people are holding on as inflation makes buying a single cup of coffee nearly impossible https://nyti.ms/2MptDYe pic.twitter.com/DhwBv2czZ5

Except every Marxist government in modern history has devolved into a dictatorship because it DOESN’T WORK.

Yes, that’s exactly why it doesn’t work. Also because it’s an extremely fragile system in which things can go horribly wrong, and they have...every time. You know what that means? IT DOESN’T WORK.

This is the immediate and bitter effect of sanctions. They literally make an economy scream as they play havoc with the welfare of the ordinary citizen.

This has been happening waaaay before sanctions. White people seriously think everything is because of them.. We're responsible for our own troubles thank you very much...

USA has nothing to do with Venezuela's issues. Facts: Chavez nationalized large parts of the economy. Ran socialist programs on the back of oil exports. Oil prices dropped in 2014 and the over reliance on oil lead to start of price controls and hyperinflation.

Oil prices are key, true. More facts: US has imposed sanctions since 2014, distributed millions of dollars to opposition groups and attempted a coup in 2002
