The Korematsu ruling was an exceedingly rare modern example in which the Supreme Court explicitly upheld government discrimination against an entire category of people based upon a trait like race or ethnicity, @charlie_savage writeshttps://nyti.ms/2tALT9W

It was also based on a lie told by Government lawyers. Sound familiar?

Unlike the Korematsu case, the evidence was right in front of the SCOTUS and they still made the same decision as Korematsu case.

Yes. That’s why it will eventually put in the trash can along side it. I just hope it doesn’t take 70+ years to do it.

They hypocrisy of overturning Korematsu while upholding discrimination against a religion is and insult to our constitution and to the American people. We deserve better.

It’s happening, and it’s happening fast. The racism of the White House is spreading. Let’s not normalize it, because it’s not normal. Human rights are.

You must have forgotten that none of the 911 terrorist countries are on the travel ban list (ie Saudi Arabia). This is one of the reasons why the ‘safety’ argument falls apart.

They can? Seems like they missed a few people on September 11, 2001. Also sounds like you are suggesting the US should now NOT vet people entering the country and rely and trust other countries will do the job? Doesn’t seem to align with the desire for ‘extreme vetting’...

        Replying to @SouthernSnow21 @Kare4America and

If SA met the proper criteria and yet the biggest terrorist attack in US history occurred despite that, then why isn’t it on the ban list? It becomes illogical if the ACTUAL concern is safety. If other factors come into play, say business interests, the argument rings hollow.

Your liberal opinion is supposed to matter why exactly!? Was this written when Obama did it?

No president has banned people based on their religion. None. #Trump is the first one to do even though his third draft of the policy passes the #SCOTUS's low bar.

He’s not banning based on religion. He used the exact same order as the one obama used for the exact same countries.
