A rift in the Democratic party has opened over whether stoking anti-Trump outrage is helping or undermining its prospects in the midtermshttps://nyti.ms/2yJdJpF

There’s not a rift and the outrage is not “anti-Trump” but anti-everything awful being done by the entire administration, including theft of children, the ongoing grift, the racism, bigotry, and misogyny. To name a few.

Wouldn’t it be cool if NYT let go of reporting stories like these and started reporting what the parties’ policy positions are? Enough with this nonsense. Educate voters.

Yes! An article on the immigration process, for instance. How does someone become a legal resident? What are the steps? Ppl need to be informed- not served up outrage on the daily.

Undermining. I’ve always been centric but the actions of the Democrat party has pushed me to vote right. From Hillary Clinton’s lies and proven corruption, to the fake Russian collision story, to the violent riots, to the lack of solutions, to the preference to obstruct than fix.

Appeasement did not work in the 1930's to stop fascism in Europe and it will not work here in the 2010's! The only way to stop it is to shine a light on it and face it head on before the attrocities are committed!

Civil disobedience only works in civil society. We’re well past that. No one is stoking anti-Trump outrage, it’s real. The Red Hen was not b/c of Democrat party opposition; it was b/c of the lack of it. The flaccid opposition to this govt. has left us with no other choice.

Yes, I want the Democrats to win in November… But deciding whether you’re going to fight this racism and hatred based on your polling numbers is unconscionable

If verbally attacking racists and bigots makes you unelectable then this country no longer deserves to be free.

No it hasn’t. You would love that though, wouldn’t you @nytimes. Sells more news? And appeases master trump? Fact is dem leadership needs to play good cop to cover for those riling the base. And the base is getting riled. That should be your headline, aholes.

Divided?! Not from what I'm seeing. About damn time this nation gets pissed off. The right's lies, propaganda, rhetoric and behavior caused this consternation, and now is the time for push back. Fuck civility. Trump killed it, and the right cheered him on. Let em cry.

I'm waiting for a rift to open in the @nytimes newsroom over those who want to cover stories that have real impact and those who are all for yet another 'look at these poor white people who like Trump'.
