I wonder how objective news sources can take a balanced view of race issues when only one race can be criticized?

Other problems: null findings are also important. Decrease in grant funding leads to more dependency on funding coming from private donation/pharma which is more prone to bias but does allow for more innovative/riskier research.

How about the fact that those white, older men are simply more knowledgeable and more experienced. We need results, no matter what the color of the skin is.

Since white men invented the scientific method and more or less the entirety of the modern world, that might be for the best.

I used to be a research assistant at UCHealth and presented in a meeting wondering if certain research would lead to medical advances...was laughed at because research is to publish... Medical changes are time consuming. I quit less than a year later.

Should mention the PI of the lab reviews NIH grants so that really is the standard.

@aaronecarroll, Post 21st Century Cures Act, when the FDA has a lower bar 4 drug approval, is it a bad thing 2 favor low-risk (i.e. likely to be "positive") research? High-risk/high-return research more likely 2 have false pos results, which may never b subjected to replication.
