Ken Burns is literally the Lord of the Documentary. no offense to you, either, Lynn Novick. if your name is next to his, then you must kick some real ass!

You - my friendo, need to broaden your knowledge of fine docs. Subscription to DOCUMENTARY CHANNEL is the first step.

please feel free to recommend some docs for me. i adore them; they're my favorite films. there are lots of doc sites, plus Amazon Prime. my interest goes way back, to 1972's MARJOE and even earlier, in public school (e.g., Capra's HEMO THE MAGNIFICENT).

Well now I feel like an asshole, with my smog remark. My apologies, Seventh Art is a personal experience. But I will list my Bluray collection : On Vietnam - Hearts and Minds('74), Daughter from Danang('02), Li'l Dieter Needs to Fly('97) The Act of Killing('12) War (1/2)

2/ it's just so deep and thorough; it kind of reminds me of ESPN's massive doc on the O.J. Simpson tragedy (which brings Shelley's Ozymandias to mind -- Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!). i spent years eating dinner, watching body counts on the news when i was a teen.

O.J. doc was amazing, I tried to list what I own - very pretentious, ha?

Clearly, you have a vast knowledge on doc genre. I'm more of a all-around movie buff. But I get befuddled by a marvelous documentary, fr time to time.

I’m going to watch this but it will be hard. My dad was KIA in Vietnam when I was just 9 months old. He was 19. My mom was a widow at 19. He only had one more week to go.

Awesome documentary. My one takeaway from it was that we don't learn from the mistakes of our past.

watched it on PBS(unfortunately) AS JIM JARMUSCH NOTED ON STAR WARS "IF I GO ON WITH REST OF MY LIFE, AND DONT SEE THIS - I'LL BE FINE" *glorifying an objectionable oppressive mediation, ala bloody Crusaders. "Religion is the opium of the nations"

Unfortunately it is a flawed documentary that follows the conventional narrative pushed by the communists
