I was stopped on I-87 Southbound in NY north of Albany on Sunday as well. I was asked if I am a US citizen. There was an officer with a German Shepherd sniffing around cars. I've never driven through a checkpoint on the highway like that before.

More like exercising your fifth amendment “nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to we a witness against himself,” aka Miranda Rights. An officer can ask whatever questions they wish, and we have the right to deny an answer.

The number is 68,000 and although we have fought and died beside you we are not considered a war mongering nation. 35,000 police?? That says more about you than us.
