A lifelong friend to other animals, Koko displayed an endearing gentleness toward cats. Her relationship with a kitten inspired a popular children’s book.https://nyti.ms/2tiO6a4

I remember when Koko indepently put the two signs for "drink" and "fruit" together to communicate "watermelon." It was a monumental cognitive leap. 🍉

When I watched the docu on Koko, & saw that she couldn’t have babies it made me so sad. But when they decided to allow her to adopt kittens, it was the most precious thing in the world. I cried w/her when she found out the one died. A sad day for all of us.
