“You don’t throw a sheet over his head and walk to the next person,” said the father of a Chicago teen shot earlier this week. “Did you check and see if he even had a pulse?”https://nyti.ms/2yvrpVf

If I had to live with the fact that my child died slowly, covered with a sheet, surrounded by people that did not care about him - all the while he could have been saved ... Devastating. It's like a horror movie scene, playing in your mind on repeat.

They view these kids as less than human so not worthy of even a basic attempt to revive or save.

Yes, it's called Triage. Tragic...but paramedics goals are to save lives. But let's blame the medic instead of thug that shot him. Focus.

There were other people that were injured at scene and had a chance of survival . The medics triaged the scene and went to work on those that medical intervention would have made the difference between life and death. Sad that so many young people are killed on Chicago streets.

A clear reminder of human insensitivity demonstrated in the present law enforcement atmosphere. #PoliceState Sure makes it harder for the good guys.

It's called triage. Sorry for your loss but don't blame the medics.

When doing triage it is common practice to move on when you encounter a patient with injuries incompatible with life. Can't answer the question about being covered with a sheet or being reassess once adequate resources were available.

To be fair, these paramedics probably see a lot of head shots on people, it is Chicago after all.
