"We are here to say that we're not going to stand for the criminalization of immigrants in this country," a protester said. "That the act of coming to this country to seek refuge is not a crime."https://nyti.ms/2JTCRyY

We should raise taxes so that we can take care of all the refugees. I bet everyone will be up for that right?

You are clearly too thick to know the difference between immigrant status and refugee status. Read a book. Better yet, drop the remote and pick up a newspaper.

It's not a crime when you go through the proper channels. These activists need to get a job. If you don't want your kids taken, stay in your country where you belong, otherwise it's just bad parenting.

Why is being a nation of laws suddenly such a bad thing? Of course there are right and wrong ways to go about things. When we get on a plane, you want the government to know who is sitting next to you, no? We need immigration reform, no doubt about it, but rule of law must stand.

Protesting separating young children from their parents over a misdemeanor and supporting being a nation of laws are not mutually exclusive.

I absolutely understand what you are saying, and I think the situation was handled poorly to say the least. We must reform every aspect of immigration to ensure these events don't play out over another decade.

Right. We’re all on the same team here. We all want the same thing for the most part and there is always room for compromise in all situations. The polarization is way too out of control

I agree! I am deeply concerned about this separation of children from their families over a misdemeanor charge and the traumatic damage it will do to them, as well as the motivation for that change in policy.

That’s certainly one of the concerning issues regarding unregulated illegal immigration.
