The White House says China has more to lose in a trade war with the United States. But that's little comfort to the companies and investors with billions of dollars on the line.https://nyti.ms/2M5SShU

Wow. So uninformed. Larry Kudlow is not exactly a Rhodes scholar. He didn’t even finish his post degree. And this is the wisdom that Trump has guiding him.

The US has more to lose with a trade war with Canada who is the biggest consumer of US goods in the world. But that doesn't stop Trump from showing his ignorance in business and world politics.

Then the WH should put a tarrif on ALL clothing coming out of China (most importantly the stuff made for Trump products) and then let's see if they feel this way still.

If China made things awkward for Apple or kicked them out, what would that do to Apple - a key American brand? And that would even be a natural response for the ZTE fiasco. Trump is playing with fire.

Trump thinks that because he's seeing it in one dimension: Trade deficits. China buying US bonds likely isn't just to have leverage, they have invested in keeping the US stable (as much for their own benefit)... An inter-dependence, Trump is attacking. China has many options.

US tariffs can curtail CN growth, but won't derail its $11TR economy. It'd be more serious if others did the same (domino effect) & Trump joined TTIP in order to boost allies, mitigate effects of tariffs and further isolate CN.

Considering that Trump is making enemies of allies, that may no longer work. Making an enemy of China is also just a bad long term play.

Yes, in time, they will be much less vulnerable. China is almost definitely going to rise... Because they are more willing to give / work, and for less immediate return. Overall, they're playing the game in a better way.
