I’m a doctor myself and unfortunately I don’t know ANY doctor who hasn’t been bullied by their superiores during graduation, internship and/or residency. They believe it’s part of their job to get rid of the “weak” ones. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️💔

Just watch medical TV series such as Grey’s anatomy... treating the students like rubish seems to be ok and acceptable. Specially in the surgical field there’s no space for kindness and respect. They’re “sharks” and proud of it.

Wdit? Happens a lot. I'm grateful I went to residency where teaching by humiliation was not ok.

You should be. It’s horrible but, I think, getting better. Have to say the main reason I am in medicine (v surgery) and pulmonary (v other subspecialties) is because of the way I was treated as a trainee.

I've been a nurse for 35 years (the last 11 years I've been working in quality & patient safety). I have been bullied almost my entire career, as have my colleagues. We've been bullied by our colleagues, managers & physicians. It will never end....

I'm glad someone is talking about this. Bad enough that it affects physicians, but the impact on patients is often understated.

There are fantastic people at all levels in medicine, the trouble is that those at the top of any organization are more likely to be totally unsuitable people to be therehttps://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/09/13/1-in-5-ceos-are-psychopaths-australian-study-finds/ …

I think nurses are drawn to medicine to care for others, undoubtedly. I can not say the same about doctors. Nurse made a self conscious decision to be a nurse. The career of a doctor is chosen by the parents. That's the scary part: many are there for the money. Crazy money.
