"Every night, I hear loud sounds coming from the apartment above mine in my large Midtown co-op. I hear banging and screaming, and it sounds as though it may be sexual. Not only does it keep me up, but it also worries me. What if it’s not consensual?"https://nyti.ms/2LU4e8M

IF you have reason to believe it’s not consensual, you should have gone to authorities LONG before going to your keyboard.

Do not ignore what sounds like pain. It may be consentual (some people do odd things) but it might not be & you might be hearing the sounds of crime you may be in a position to help stop. Domestic violence and rape happen in all socioeconomic groups. Listen to your intuition.

I think she only wrote this to use the phrase "my large midtown co-op." But us Texas ranchers view "large" differently.

Look wait until you hear it again then you'll have your reason to be noisy...go knock on the door, tell them "they woke you" and wanted to know if everything was okay. In the meantime be observant.
