Once women return from maternity leave, many become second-class citizens. The dynamic helps explain why women consistently earn less than men regardless of their qualifications.https://nyti.ms/2JMDhqO

Your experience seems to imply that for every business that honors this principle, at least one counteracts that and bends the curve downward.

They don't become "second class citizens," they become someone with TWO jobs. And they should be applauded and respected and CELEBRATED for it. At the same time, a business has a right to look out for their productivity and bottom line. It's a tough reality, not an injustice.

Women CHOOSE to get pregnant. They also CHOOSE to work for their employers. Where is the problem?

Disgraceful. In UK women are legally protected. US appalling on such issues.

and that denigration of their social status is given them by the men who impregnate them; it seems women's lovers are also their tormentors #imjustsaying

I worked for a guy who refused to tell me his maternity-leave policy. One favored employee had full pay, but I didn’t know what to expect. When baby came and I was home, he cut my pay 25% - never had the guts to tell me. So when I came back I skipped Fridays. 😂 Winner.

Naked 'Materialism' targeting women who are helping to build the families and rear the next generation. This anomaly must be corrected as it is hampering the social development in a uniform pattern. The biological difference should not be a discriminatory factor in anything.

In Canada, Maternity leave is one year off, with 55% of your pay, and your job guaranteed. Government thinks that length of time is necessary to bond with your child.

We are all against wage inequality. But it's obvious that an employee Who had long Break in her/his career should earn less money that another who works continually.
