I find this article to be poorly written. Some facts: The police do not direct patient care. Ketamine is well within the standard of care for sedating agitated, acutely psychotic patients. 1/x

Sedation is far safer than manual restraint for combative patients, or those in a state of excited delerium. The draft report has no medical input, nor does the article address what the standard of care in that area is. Poor form, @nytimes. I expect better. 2/2

Isn't this the stuff that is responsible for the death of a well known musician⁉️ Ketamine is also used as horse & cat tranquilizer...-ONE😬 1. https://www.webmd.com/pain-management/news/20180615/first-ketamine-guidelines-for-pain-released … 2.https://www.quora.com/Is-ketamine-truly-a-horse-tranquilizer …

Kemotine is supposed to be used with a ventilator. I’m appalled these officers are in my state.

I'm concerned about this. Just what if it's adopted for widespread use? -ONE💯

Then that’s even scarier. #MinneapolisPD has been having issues the last few years. Their chief resigned because of scandal. Now this. @GovMarkDayton needs to get an investigation going. Because clearly Minneapolis has done gone lost it’s mind!

So the government can now incapacitate you with drugs at their discretion? Somebody needs to be fired.

This pisses me off. They had no authority to do this. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner even stated that the officers were told no. Someone has some explaining to do!

Even when mechanical restraints are used by Police the person can continue to struggle and become more agitated. Body temperature can continue to rise along with heart rate & blood pressure . This can lead to a dangerous situation for the subject that might be helped by sedation.

There is a real problem with leadership and judgement in our country’s police forces right now! I know not all officers are bad but the ones that are, are making the good ones’ jobs even harder. Changes must be made!! #PoliceBrutality

2/ Abusive use of restraints & brute force & using injected sedatives even when patient is calm & cooperating. ALL UNLAWFUL.

Disgusting! We had some hospitals sanctioned in Canada for abusive use of meds and illegal practices. Some closed!

This article is missing some important context. Ketamine can be live saving in cases of excited delirium. There are many cases of people dying partly because of being restrained by police with no sedation.
