In his travel diary, Albert Einstein described in stark, often racist terms his impressions of the people he encountered in Hong Kong and Singapore, China, Japan, India and Palestinehttps://nyti.ms/2LTRXkv

Our private thoughts don’t make us who we are, our public speach and actions do.

I think that our private thoughts lead our actions on puplic. How could some one think or believe in some thing then act in a contradictorial way. It can be akin of lying and flattering then.

Albert Einstein was a man from an earlier time, with different understandings, ethics, and acceptable vocabulary. Evaluating him by our standards today does not accomplish anything useful

A different time with different expectations; applying our immediate regular norms to this antiquated privy council is moot. These “revelations” are not truly unexpected or surprising.

A foreword thinking man from a different time being beholden to today’s “ balleywho “ only illustrates our species ongoing shortcut to thinking.

Well this totally discredits the theory of relativity. How can you trust the ideas of a racist? Maybe you can go faster than the speed of light.

This just in: man from history doesn't live up to modern standards of conduct. I'm shocked, SHOCKED I say! How stupid.

His comments where crude and not pc but hardly racist. And Einstein's later opinions on civil rights and the quest for peace speak for themselves.

I'm with everyone else so far. What is the point of this? For some people they have to process their ludicrous thoughts to realize the stupidity of them. You can turn anyone into a racist or a biggot if you really tried. We are all human. How does this help? It doesn't.

Einstein frequently spoke out against racism, was a founder of the anti-lynching league, was a friend of Paul Robeson & Marion Anderson. His first American article was in the NAACP's Crisis, of which he was a member. He also linked Jewish scientist HBCUs for teaching positions.
