In Opinion, James Comey writes: "I do not agree with all of the inspector general’s conclusions, but I respect the work of his office and salute its professionalism ... This is how the process is supposed to work."https://nyti.ms/2JDhLVJ

Comey did what he thought was best. After reading about the situation he was basically between a rock and a hard place. What he did was wise and prevented the FBI from being accused of cover up if Hillary won.

I feel this way, as well. It was a no-win situation.

Disagree, as the report says, the two doors were ‘follow protocol’ and ‘don’t follow protocol’. He chose the latter, with far-reaching and devastating consequences. There are children bewildered and bereft in internment camps due to that decision. History will judge him badly.

It seems you are making rather broad assumptions. Yes, we will have to disagree.

It literally says that about the two doors in the IG report. And did Comey’s revelation lead to Trump winning? Well, the numbers indicate it pretty clearly. So I don’t think the assumptions are especially unfounded.

I think it is also worth pointing out that he made the diametrically opposite choice with respect to Trump/Russia. As this email to Clapper and Brennan shows:pic.twitter.com/snAbUF2DZC

Did @nytimes have this defensive OpEd teed up and ready to go for @comey? This was published literally minutes after the criminalizing IG report was released. Disgraceful

At least Comey is taking some accountability for his actions. He's not going off on Twitter and saying "fake news"...like the #ChildInChief.
