In much of the U.S., the stereotype that boys do better than girls at math isn’t true. But there’s a notable exception.https://nyti.ms/2LOVssq

When girls are doing worse, it's used as proof of oppression. When boys? Proof of innate inferiority.

Probably because in public schools, the teachers punish boys for being boys and gives them lower scores/grades than they actually deserve.

So you're saying wealthy kids don't go to public school?

No. I'm saying that in public schools where most teachers are women, boys get discriminated against. Not so much in school districts that attracts both better and male teachers. http://ideas.time.com/2013/02/06/do-teachers-really-discriminate-against-boys/ … https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/01/28/the-serious-reason-boys-do-worse-than-girls/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.e11a9f13973d … https://www.independent.co.uk/news/education/education-news/female-teachers-accused-of-giving-boys-lower-marks-6943937.html … http://mitili.mit.edu/sites/default/files/project-documents/SEII-Discussion-Paper-2016.07-Terrier.pdf …

So you didn't actually read the headline, or the story or anything. Because it mentions districts, which are a public school thing. It's talking about public school students. But hey anything to shit on public schools right?

So you actually didn't read my post, the articles linked or anything? Because they mention that it differs in rich districts where they hire more sexually diverse. But hey - anything to defend public schools when that wasn't really the subject of my replies, right? Right?

Why is this not a story about boys underperforming in English?

Because no one cares if boys underpreform and if they do it's asdumed that the boys themselves are the problem.

How did that notion come about? Ethnic and religious diversity is one of the biggest sources of conflict and friction in many societies.
