Banksy submitted artwork to an exhibition under a pseudonym. It was rejected. Then the exhibit asked Banksy if he had anything he'd like to submit.https://nyti.ms/2JyRGHh

Banksy’s true artistry is his deft manipulation and creatively and gently undermining the very systems that he inhabits. Always it’s for fun, expression, and of course, profit. We all wish we could be celebrated and so well compensated for being cheeky AF.

*whispers* [It's because the art scene is a bunch of BS and has nothing to do with how good an artist is or how hard they work]

This is a good moral story for any new artist. Just because you face rejection doesn’t mean it’s bad.

Shows it’s not the art that matter , but the name.

Very telling of the art industry which is more concerned with the name/fame than the actual art itself. Everything Banksy does is literally a work of art, exposing the hypocrisy of the capitalist modern world we live in.

Who would have known for most people in this industry it is all about the name.? Can we make a big exhibition where no one is allowed to put a name on the submitted pieces and only after some time of showing it to big audiences the artists may reveal themselves? Thanks.

If the exhibit thought the art work was derivative of someone...say Banksy, I could see how they might have come to that decision.
