The Y chromosome doesn't just determine gender: It may also may protect against cancer and dementia.https://nyti.ms/2LKVD8o

Sex refers to anatomy, gender refers to personality. This is about using the correct word. Also, no, gender, being specific to personality, is a vast spectrum. Also, no, there is a spectrum between the sexes of male and female called intersex. This is science and English.

Personality is deeply correlated with ANATOMY. If you think that your mind is a blank slate then you're idiotic. Why do you think that male bonobos act more agressively that their female counterpart ?

        Replying to @lecishet @Stop_Groupthink and

If anatomy was the single most important factor in personality, all males and all females would be virtually identical in behavior, interests, and capacity. This is not remotely the case.

That's idiotic because every male and female have very specific genes

Very specific genes that determine their sex in the final stages of fetal development, and comprise a fraction of the whole. You are oversimplifying and ignoring facts to suit your world view.

The article uses the word gender zero times. The heading uses the term 'sex chromosome'. The article mentions 'sex determination' and 'an offspring's sex'. #sexnotgender

That's right. There are only two sexes. Gender is a mental construct. Believing your gender is different than your sex is a mental disorder called 'gender dysphoria'.
