If you can't write accurate headlines, you should get out of news reporting. The citizens of Seattle have been and still are overwhelmingly against this. The council voted for it against the will of the people, and now they fixed their mistake. STOP DRIVING WEDGES IN THE US!!

signatories to a petition do not represent the entire will of the city. I’d like to see opinion polls on this issue. But either way, the tax is the right thing; its effects are meant to mitigate the mess these big companies are making

There’s far less lazy ways to deal with the growing pains Seattle has felt - without driving away the companies providing it’s best job opportunities. The city does not have a revenue problem, there was no reason to levy new taxes.

Hey #Denver and #Colorado take a pass on Amazon and find corporations who make money AND are good neighbors.

Another example of corporate extortion? No Corp should be given preferential treatment and tax free status. It never benefits communities

This headline's narrative is misleading. There is no acknowledgement of the distrust citizens have of @SeattleCouncil, the unsuccessful programs that fail to get people into housing, and weird culture war that is fabricated as a means to focus the attention on "evil" wealth.

Second headquarters will NOT be in a state controlled by liberals, so Amazon will have no concerns about excessive taxes.

It's really sad that, no matter how successful a company is, or rich an individual is, they don't want to pay taxes for the better good.

One Big-Boy-Business-Tyrant has taken over The White House; now other big businesses are after City Halls. Watch out,, citizens!
