As a former high school and college distance runner, I have to tell you that the headline of this article is HORRIFYING. High school girls are vulnerable enough without a national newspaper speculating about their bodies.

How about this, def def def def not going to publicly speculate about a young girl’s body and how it may or may not “betray” her
-
What about young boys? i.e basketball, football, hocket recruits? Are articles about those athletes okay?

My daughter was a varsity athlete in two sports all four years of high school. This sounds like fake news.
-
yeah it's AFTER high school that's the concern highlighted by article - put on fat/weight to get body ready for reproduction, for long distance runners counter beneficial.
-
Women get fat as they get older and it makes them bad runners? NYT wrote an article about that?
-
that's all the info you get. you'll need to read it yourself.
-
Hard pass. NYT is greedy I'll save my articles thanks though.

What a great idea, run a headline that questions a teenagers future before she even starts it. Great idea.
