Documents released in a lawsuit attempting to block the inclusion of a question about citizenship in the 2020 census show lobbying by anti-immigration hard-liners for the question’s inclusionhttps://nyti.ms/2xZsnc1

There are between 10 Million and 30 Million illegal immigrants. NYTimes doesn't want you to know it is 30 Million, take 30 Million jobs from Americans. When did Dianne Feinstein surrender?pic.twitter.com/qBYzpQrSOh

Citizenship is not a trivial question. I'm less interested in the race of census respondents than their citizenship. If they're a citizen, a green-card holder, or have an un-expired visa, I'm cool with any race.

If that question ends up on the survey, I'll be skipping it. And I'll encourage others to skip it. I don't think the question should be asked because it's being brought by anti-immigration types.

The entire idea of asking these citizenship questions on the census is in direct opposition to the defined purpose and goals of the census. It's a bad-faith effort to undermine democratic provisioning based on census data.

Give me one good reason why illegal aliens should be a factor in how many representatives a state get. Just one.

That's not what the census is for. The Constitutionally-mandated purpose of the census is to obtain an accurate count of every person living in the United States, regardless of citizenship. The fact that some politicians want to repurpose it for partisan expediency is irrelevant.

It is totally relevant. The state of California for example should not gain any extra seats because they harbor illegal aliens or get additional resources because they want to break the law.

Why does the article not contain the content of the proposed question (or the 1950s equivalent if this cannot be sourced)? Very odd.

Good. Finally some action being taken by sensible Americans who don't believe it's a good idea for the whole world to swarm in and destroy us.
