Just this Tuesday, I was sitting in a plastic chair eating lunch with locals in Mexico City, making friends across an imagined, hostile border. Thanks Tony for teaching us WHY everyone should travel.

My son is a lead line cook. Last night, his crew was bereft. The newest member said, “Watching (Bourdain’s) show made me decide to work on kitchens.” I’m sure this was happening in restaurants across the country, perhaps the world.

I’ve always felt that Anthony Bourdain’s series should be shown in our schools, perhaps in Social Studies. Maybe the next generations would learn the beauty of different cultures and respect everyone on our planet deserves.

The world simply isn't as good as it was yesterday. My breakfast of seared foie basted eggs and fig compote with homemade toast in honor of him may never bring a smile to my face again

Enough about Anthony Bourdain. We got more important things to concern ourselves as Americans, than his “human interest” story. He tapped-out, and cemented his legacy.

My best appreciation of his generosity of spirit was in his blurb of Gabrielle Hamilton’s “Blood, Bones, and Butter.” He was a mensch.

Nope. I get who he is (was) but I didn’t read that—I saw his tv ID; still, “Blood, Bones, and Butter” is a generational read, and his take on it was very generous. He must have been a good guy.

Yeah I remember he gave it a good review on the book jacket of Hamilton's book. Their attitude re: food was very similar & probably due to the French DNA both had.

Eurgh...to lose Anthony while that preening man-child puts a torch to civilisation. On one hand, i mourn the loss of someone on the right side of decency, on the other, i feel for his family. On both counts, Bourdain was more of a man than Trump could ever be
