Don't see the cause of the fuss around here. If it's on Facebook then obviously one day someone will see it. Get over it and stop your nonsensical cries over your useless data.

The main issue is that once made public that data is available online easily for large scale collection by less ethical entities for marketing or alternative uses that you never consented to allowing your content be used for. This is a big issue especially when it comes to photos

We all know that whatever us I the cloud can't be that safe. Abd besides. Facebook is free. How else do you expect them to earn besides selling your data to advetisers?

Your missing the issue, it isnt with fbook using the data, they list what they use and how, but the issue is with private content being listed public, even for a short while allows people running web scrapers to gather as much of it as they can for uses you didnt consent to,

One would only hope their data is worthless but photos, faces and pictures of family and friends are worth alot. Especially for large data training sets.

At least memes are made from popular people and advertisers find absolutely no use for my data since am from a third world country. Still feel safer than ever

That's completely fine in your case but not the case of many others, that's why these kind of company messups are an issue, pleanty of times missuse of images have ruined people's lives.

One should ALWAYS assume that EVERYTHING they post online is public, and always post with that in mind.
