One of the greatest and truthful books of the real culinary world. RIP Tony

Your body is not a temple, it's an amusement park. Enjoy the ride. ~Anthony Bourdain R.I.P.

maybe that's what happens when you don't treat your body as a temple...

This is just so sad. Thru his shows and books, he opened up the whole food experience, & did it with joy & gusto & a potty mouth that never failed to make me smile. Tragic that someone who brought so much to so many could not find his way out of the dark & pain. Peace, Tony.

From everything this guy did in life, don’t think he killed himself. Look into this
-
This is such a harmful tweet. Just because you don’t understand or believe it doesn’t make it any less real and true. Plenty of people you know are suffering invisibly with depression. Not seeing it just means you don’t see it. That’s all.
-
It’s the first thought everyone has: “This cannot be true, there must be foul play, they should investigate”. It’s the normal human reaction.
-
That may be true, although I would disagree with the everyone part. Regardless, not all thoughts need to go up on social media. Some can just stay in our brains where they are less likely to reinforce widespread stigma against mental illness.
-
I wasn’t being rude or anything. I’ve seen his shows. I’m sorry it happened, but sometimes deaths originally ruled suicides sometimes actually are homicides
-
I got all of that. But having seen someone on tv does not give you insight into the inner workings of their mind. Even knowing someone in person doesn’t. You only see what people are willing to let you see. And that is rarely, if ever, everything that’s there.
-
I wasn’t attacking him. I didn’t know about his depression. I hate that he died
-
Yeah I know. It’s terrible
I’m not trying to make you feel shitty, it all just sucks.
