Definitely still stigmatized. Not only not talked about enough, but not by enough prominent people

We don’t talk enough about it, our country doesn’t have adequate healthcare, and the mental health medicine that is available isn’t as effective as it needs to be. Ultimately, modern life is just too stressful. We’re demanding ourselves too much of ourselves.

I'm not sure I but this argument anymore. I suffer depression and people talk about it a lot and it's very easy to find resources. Can't say the same about being able to pay foe them. But the help is there. And the conversations are there.
-
Many people don’t even have the strength to seek out those resources during deep depressions. That’s where a strong support system comes in. Sadly, lots of us don’t even have that. We really do see who cares when times get tough.

I feel ya. I've been there many many times.

Well I honestly hope you don’t have to go through them alone anymore. If you ever need someone to talk to, don’t hesitate sending a message.

I feel less than sympathetic for Spade, I admit it. She had a TEEN DAUGHTER. She had every resource available to her.

So, are we going to have the difficult conversation about how glorifying a person who commits suicide attracts others to a solution for all your problems that has the added benefit of making everyone love you more. No? I thought so.

Don't talk enough about it? How bout the TV advertisements for Rx Depression-Anxiety DRUGS every five minutes on TV? And a Rx mental health drug industry profiting $800B/yr causing 1000's of Suicide-Homicide "side effects" including Kate Spade who acted on Rx Suicide side effects

Because any form of mental "illness" is not a sickness at all. We see it as a weakness, pathetic and easily fixed. We need to change this mindset and start being more aware of the signs, accepting the reality and prevalence of it in our society.
