So all those people who wants to earn better life by working hard and hold big positions will get short hand of the stick! First it was taxes, then food stamps, free health insurance, low income homes, and now reduced fare cards,? What’s next?
-
How will those people get the “short end of the stick”? How does helping people who need help make things harder for people who already have?

Good news for many. If I remember correctly I paid 120 for a monthly card last year. It was near half of it back in 2014...

Why city is giving so much free hand outs, instead of pushing people to get educated and aim high to get better jobs?

"Here's a discount on the shittiest way to get to your job! You're welcome!" If the city was going to subsidize a program, they should create a NYC bike sharing program (screw CitiBike) and put some of that money into the subway system.
-
Yeah cause that wouldn't end up with all the bikes stolen or anything
-
Do you live in NYC? The CitiBike program is crazy popular and expanding like crazy. Yes some bikes are stolen, but that the cost of doing business and can easily be absorbed.

Tbh was just being a smartass and assumed that bikes owned by the city would be stolen pretty quick because people don't want to pay (not from NY) but if you're serious about tax money going to ski resorts, that's fucked up
-
Ski resorts that are failing because of the increase of brown winters and no biz. It's a shit show. But Citibike has demonstrated that bike-sharing is very viable. Take money from those that can afford it (and want to bike) and use the profits to go to getting the subways...
