School safety transcends just guns. Safety is a universal situation and a master plan is a good thing. The real issues plaguing schools today is tolerance of students who many know as threats and bullying. Take focus off the instrument and on the human factor.

They won't because then they would have to admit that not everyone who is bullied is an outright victim.

Will bullying, taunting, & mental health also be addressed? Taking away guns is one thing, but it doesn't tackle the underlying problems that are actually causing individuals to commit heinous crimes.

According to the feds school bullying has steadily declined since 2007. And teen mental illness is a global crisis, not just the U.S. But mass school shootings only occur in the U.S. What does the U.S. have more of than any other country? 🤔

Thousands of gun laws passed by politicians who've never owned or shot a gun and who are kept in power, and voted for, by activists who have never owned or fired a gun?

Why are we talking guns at this point? This should be about the bullets. No bullets means less shootings.

Setting DeVos debate aside, what can the Dept. of Ed. do about guns and school shootings? We can have all the commissions and studies and councils we want, but they won’t do a thing. They deal with education, not gun policy.

While I agree and the solution to the problem lies in different areas, until the problem is solved the schools need to ensure the safety of our kids while they are entrusted with our kids.

Agreed. Security, crisis training, mental health evaluations, and etc. These are things schools and the Dept. of Ed can do, they have no authority or ability to do anything regarding guns.

Good, it’s time we look directly at what’s been responsible for all the school shootings, guns. People keep saying to keep schools safe we need more guns, but I don’t believe that, I believe the more guns we have the worse things will get.
