The husband of the influential designer Kate Spade, who died of suicide, said she had been treated for severe depressionhttps://nyti.ms/2JhT7tu

Terribly, terribly sad. A teenage girl has lost her mum (when she will need her the most) and a husband has lost his best friend. The family should be left alone to grieve. This is a private matter and should be teated as such.

It's a Public Health concern, actually. Suicide. The world carried her brand expression literally and figuratively wanting to embody it. It's not supposed to take a Thelma and Louise plot twist. Though the families grief should be respected.

He had to release a statement, especially in light of Kate’s estranged sister’s comments to the press only hours after her death. The sister’s words were in poor taste + disrespectful at the very least in my opinion. My heart breaks for Andy and their daughter.

The intense depression that accompanies divorce is the cause of many suicides. If she had already been struggling with depression, I'm certain a request for divorce could easily push her over the edge. Divorce is so tragic.

Andy...Kate was so kind to me...an attender to an early trunk show at a mutual friend’s home in KC. I was touched by her humor, brilliance and thoughtfulness. I struggled with MI especially after 50. I will continue to pray for you and Bea. All love...

Look let's move on she's not here to speak for herself. No matter what was going on she did leave a letter. Let this family be so they can put things in some kind of perspective order.
