Qualifying for the World Cup should be automatic for the US not a mission lol

Really? On what basis should they automatically qualify?

Finances, infrastructure, player pool, and that we compete with countries who have a fraction of our resources. USA basketball beats Central American team by 80 points. USA soccer has no excuse for not demolishing CONCACAF, let alone not qualifying.

You demolish Central America by 80 points because the US has a long history and culture of Basketball. Other countries have a long history and culture of Football and will demolish the US.

Culture is important but there's more at play. US youth teams demolish Central American teams regularly. Also worth noting how quickly the world has caught USWNT. There, the US has the deeper history. Leads me to believe there are systemic failures within US soccer.

I'm glad we are playing to qualify like that's pretty weak.

Oh for fucks sake. Can we get someone that has a track record of getting teams to the World Cup. We don’t have anyone with the experience to do this. Twice we went and were surprisingly successful. Both those managers were European. They don’t have to be from USA. Just win baby

Instead of losing at Trinidad and Tobago, sealing no WC play; next time let's split vs the 2 of them..Concern is that Earnie was a mid-fielder; we need someone to field a complete team - US Soccer hires Earnie Stewart as GM to qualify US for '22 World Cuphttps://nyti.ms/2LuhhO7
