This reminds me again not to judge a book by its cover. The outside maybe beautiful and glossy but inside tormented. A beautiful and creative woman gone too soon.

Do we really need to know how in such detail?
Rest in peace Kate
-
I appreciate this being made public. Far too often we have heard only 'died at home'. The public needs to know how often people die of depression.
-
I believe it is important to note when someone has died by suicide and to address mental health, but it is never necessary to go into detail regarding the means.
-
I didn’t see much detail other than “by hanging in her bedroom”. That’s just facts. Certainly not detail.
-
Listing the means opens the door for others to follow suit. Have you heard of copycat suicides? And imagine how devastating it can be to have a mental image of someone you looked up to in their final moments.
-
People who are going to commit suicide are going to commit suicide. They will find the means most available/suitable to their needs. Another person cannot put a thought or stop a thought from entering their minds. They have already thought through what they want to do.

Kate Spade was fixated on Robin Williams, who died the same way, as per her sister. That’s the first thing a thought when I heard the news today- Robin Williams. Heartbreaking she thought getting treatment would tarnish her brand.http://www.kansascity.com/news/local/article212609069.html …

Heartbreaking, we need to discuss mental health issues. To leave a 13 yr old daughter like this is horrible.
-
imagine how hurt and hopeless she felt that she still went through with it despite that fact

Mental illness truly is a public health epidemic. Rest In Peace Kate

Yes, because we keep glorifying stardom and unattainable, ridiculous standards of beauty and success. We seek peace and happiness but it gets stomped down time and again by the crap we are bombarded with, even subconsciously. It’s hard.

We never know who is suffering. Our
#Mentalhealth which drives to suicide is a condition which needs to be made visible. It’s high time that we have been accepting depression and related conditions as invisible, and sitting hand on hand.#MentalHealthAwarenessThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
