Teachers get their student loans forgiven and are entitled to 3 month vacation plus all national holidays plus their salary. If you ask me that’s a hell of a lot.

Teacher here. You only get some (not all) of your student loans forgiven if you work in a Title I (low income) District. We don’t get a 3 month paid vacation. I only get paid for the months I work. Thus I don’t get a pay check in July. Nice try though.

Need a pay raise get a new career @andmichellecal. Looks like being a teacher still fosters idiocy. I’m American you moron. Looks like the students in your class will learn a lot of nothing this year with a teacher like you!

Do you expect somebody that has to work nights at Red Lobster to keep food on their table on top of their 70+ hour per week teaching job to compete with teachers from South Korea that make the equivalent of six figures?

Education in this Country is grossly underfunded! How can we call ourselves good parents when we don’t fight for our children’s futures by giving them the best education possible?

Literally not true. We spend more per pupil than any big country. We spend 20% more than Japan, more than Finland, more than Australia. With far, far worse results. It's not the money, it's how we spend the money. We waste billions.
