I’m experiencing a bit of Star Wars fatigue, but still found this movie very enjoyable. Exciting and kept me interested. Biggest complaint, tbh, is the casting of Han. Just didn’t feel right.

Same. Although there were moments when I could see why they cast him. I thought Donald Glover was perfect as Lando though.

My exact thoughts. Still can’t say why I feel the way I do about Han, but it just didn’t.. feel.. right.

After 40 years, I'm starting to get bored with this franchise. Starting to switch over to Star Trek. Disney is going to ruin this franchise.

JJ Abrams also killed #StarTrek with his faux Khan and #StarTrekDiscovery just sucks - @CBS just put out a sfx heavy TV show, slapped a Star Trek label on it, and said screw continuity. Seth MacFarlane's show #TheOrville is more Star Trek than #Discovery.

Star Trek is at a much better state than Star Wars. Though it is much different than it once was, at least it is not trying to be a pale imitation of the glory days and trying its own thing. The Last Jedi just failed in every aspect of what made Star Wars feel fun and fresh.

I disagree - the new #StarTrek movies are terrible and #CBS is trying to pass #Discovery as taking place in the Shatner universe but it's obvious it's another alternate universe, like the JJ Abrams stuff. Watched a few episodes and it's anything but Star Trek.

I like all of Star Trek, I don't really see the problem, honestly. It's different but I like it.

I don't like what's going on with #StarTrek - it's one thing to advertise it's part of something that has been established for years and then put out a totally different unrelated product. But that's my take - my white side is on the right, yours is on the left.

Their interpretation of being the "same" is not the same as yours. It's in the prime timeline, the events are the same, but the visuals are updated for modern audiences. So if you don't agree with their interpretation, that's fine. However, they are not trying to deceive people.

Yep, freeloading on the NYT feed which someone liked into my Twitter stream. TBH, I'm not sure how I feel about that. Journalism is important, as we've seen from the crisis in the US, and to get good journos, you have to pay 'em. If I don't buy the paper, where's the cash?
