The city should be focusing on making sure these kids are better prepared for the tests by fixing middle schools curriculums. But they are taking the easy way out instead. I hope these proposals don't pass. @NYCMayor

I'm a Bronx Science grad. When I attended, the school was largely Jewish. These days, it's overwhelmingly Asian, as are the other specialized high schools. Comrade Bill DeBlasio is discriminating against Asians, as well as whites.

When Mueller wraps up the Trump investigation, he should get to work on how Comrade Bill De Blasio stole the 2013 Democratic primary election from Christine Quinn. Did he collude with the Castro brothers? The Sandinistas?

This is the most absurd incarnation of the “everyone wins” zeitgeist. As a progressive, I’m all for equality. I’m also the product of one of those “elite” HS’s. Sorry to say, but there’s nothing wrong with selecting the best students.

Except there is. How does a bright kid raised by, e.g., a single-parent high-school-dropout, hope to compete with one of same IQ whose bougie folks hire him a tutor? Don't act like you hit a home run when you were born on 3rd base.

testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 1Jn1

we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 Jn 2

16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. 1 Jn 2

22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. 1 Jn 2

those kids will also likely need preparatory classes to catch up.... if they come from schools that do not adequately prepare kids for high school. I hope that is also being considered.

We have proven that SATs are socio-economically biased, so colleges and universities are giving them less weight. A single test is never an indicator of future success. We can do better for all young people.

This sounds like when they instituted "open admissions" at CUNY 30 or so years ago and basically destroyed its reputation.
