        yes, refusing people access to their local government funded school for not being baptized is going to be the end for the famed island that has had absolutely 0 cultural, political, or economic issues ever

        Trust me on this. The strength of Ireland is its faith in God and the cohesiveness it brings to society. This is an erosion of that and it will definitely mark the beginning of the end.

        Hooray! Religious equality has been a long time coming but it's time Ireland & other countries dominated by the Catholic Church become free of the yoke. As countries become more diverse, so should public policy. One size does not fit all.

        I worked in the US with a nun who left Catholic school teaching. She believed parochial education leads to parochial minds. In her childhood the Diosis paid to support the local church; all non-Catholics went there free. No-one paid public school taxes.
