        under obama the norm was to process asylum applications before seeking criminal charges for illegal border crossing. The process is reversed now using the charges as reason to take the children to try and discourage ppl from coming here.

        No it was not the same. Largely the new process procedures you can thank Jeff Sessions for. He's been pushing the agenda to prosecute as many illegals as possible. You've probably seen video of him saying something like "if you bring a child across you will be separated."
