In a battlefield situation, wounds, blood, and transfusions are common. It's a force readiness issue. A safety issue. A common sense policy.

Yep And if you have breasts and your blood sugar has ever been high or low & they know about it, recruiters treat you like shit, even if you've served before. Why should he get treated any better than people who did nothing to deserve their health problems? Russian Roulette.

If landlords have to legally disclose tenant HIV as a hazard, it shouldn't be in the readiness pool. Yuck.

It's not outdated, it's detrimental to deployability and creates a higher risk of contamination on the battlefield.

Much like civilian employment the government has to look at his essential job duties and determine if he meets the requirements to safely perform them. I think direct battle would pose a safety issue but a less physical desk job would be an appropriate accommodation.

Check his records, 201 file and DD214, his uniform is not consistan with the ribbons and CIB. As a former infantryman, master parachutist and veteran of Vietnam and Dessert Storm I'am insulted by remfs wearing combat insignias unless earned.

Apparently no one in NYT was a combatant. HIV is contagious. Think about it before you print your headline.
