Much of today’s upper class is engaged in a frenzy of self-improvement. They want to be skinnier, healthier, younger-looking, smarter, nicer, more loving. Nxivm positioned itself as the true self-improvement gospel.https://nyti.ms/2H535bu

That face he's making is actually one of the most derisive and hostile human expressions. I read once that a half-smile, or sneer, is known by psychologists to indicate a willing desire to inflict scorn, thereby harm, on the recipient. He who sneers looks down his nose at you.

        1. Any "religion" or "self-help" group that tells me to better myself I have to screw someone is only going to see a dust cloud as I race out of there. 2. Anyone coming at me with a hot iron to 'brand' me is gonna get kicked where it hurts most. 3. People are so damn gullible.

No....you are right. But let me say that I am damned glad I have always, always listened to that warning ding. The one time I ignored this, I was conned. First time, last time. And I did NOT want pity or anything else

Reading and thinking about this, the one recurring thought I have is that people will go a very, very long way to replace Jesus Christ in their life. Sad.
