STILL HAPPENING TODAY: • Students were packing fruit in boxes, students threw bananas at him and made monkey noises. • Students argued that he should work more because “n*ggers like them some barbecue.” • School board ignored complaints.https://www.independentpressjournal.com/2018/02/14/no-nggers-gulf-shores-high-school-gulf-shores-alabama/ …

White school board member mocks people who complain of racism: "School board member can be seen smirking and shaking her head sarcastically as she says, “no they’re not,” just as the parent reiterates that black kids are scared to report racism."https://www.independentpressjournal.com/2017/11/22/racism-concerns-mocked-dismissed-by-white-school-board-member-in-alabama-video/ …

The school board and Superintendent aren't worried about racism. They are way more concerned with other things, like "donations": “It just doesn’t feel right for our boss to be offering to let us go home early if we pay a certain charity some money.”https://www.independentpressjournal.com/2018/06/03/superintendent-soliciting-donations-in-exchange-for-early-release-raises-ethics-questions/ …

Gray Walden sings: “Fuck Martin Luther King,” & “Torture n*ggers with firehouses and the Klu Klux Klan." Walden also calls for “genocide” on all LGBTQ people. Sources say that Gray Walden just got a admitted to, and a scholarship to, Univ. of Alabama.https://www.independentpressjournal.com/2018/06/06/did-racist-student-gain-admission-to-receive-scholarship-to-university-of-alabama/ …

Great that an apology happened. But just imagine how many lives were affected by those expulsions! Lost tuition, opportunities, generations suffering from social / economic impact then have to rise that much higher. Have lessons been learned?

Does it really take 58 years for an insincere apology? How about an honorary degree for the 9 individuals? That’s a real apology. #ActionsSpeakLouderThanWords

Now they should pay the short fall in expected earnings - people w/college degrees during the years btw 1960 & 2018 earned significantly more than those with just a high school diploma. They expelled the students for racist reasons & the students & their families paid price.
