        It's a pilot program, funding comes from a 1 million dollar grant, and crowdfunding. Alaska had a similar program a while back!

        This reminds me of the science "experiments" we did in high school. Interesting a way, but it's not like we don't already know how it turns out.

        Yes, similar experiments elsewhere already suggest that this is generally fruitful and that people on average spend the money wisely and productively. But we do still need much more research like this to figure out all the variables and to persuade those who scream ‘communism’.
