However simple it may sound, basic income is a complex idea with a whole host of questions commonly asked by those new to the idea. Here's a FAQ that covers many of them.http://www.scottsantens.com/basic-income-faq …

Interesting. Gonna keep an eye on this. And for those of you who are against this - go screw yourself. This is a local initiative. These people can experiment how they want to solve their own local problems. No one cares what you think.

Someone has to do something, to solve this income inequality. Californian's at least try to make life livable for everyone, not just the elite.

You could start at jack in the box. Show up on time and do your job well. Maybe you go from pt to ft. You excel working ft maybe you get a shift super position. Do that well for a little while and maybe a store manger pos opens up. You can do that or you can keep complaining

I did. I worked full time at auto zone while I went to school. Worked hard, got promoted. Got a different job, worked hard got promoted. Now I make 100k a year. It’s not easy, but literally anyone can do it.

My job isn’t going anywhere. That’s what happens when you choice a job field that is in constant need for new workers and not waste 4 years if your life getting a degree in art or photography.

This is completely wrong, give people jobs! Not cash to fight poverty. Don’t handicap those able to work for housing and food, give them the tools necessary to fend for themselves in the long term.

I’ll take it a step further...the only people who should receive a handout for housing etc., are our Veterans who are too injured to work mentally and physically. They are the ones who deserve being taken care of since they risked everything to give us the freedom we all enjoy.

Train people with “suistainable” job training. Check out the Bread Project in Berkeley. Give people dignity & real skills.
