At that time no one cared about gay people. Everyone likes to think of themselves as progressive, but most people just come on board when an idea's time has come. Most of you would not have stood up for LGBT folks in the 70s. They were being beaten and killed daily.

There's no there, there. The club was likely torched by a disgruntled patron, and not "college fraternities" or anti-gay bias, as obliquely implied in the piece. The strategic omission of this fact is telling.

In your critique of the book you missed the fact the author stole the title of his book from another book also called Tinderbox, the Iroquois theatre disaster 1903. Author Anthony Hatch and published in 2003 by Academy Chicago Publisher.
