This is appalling. And in your final paragraph, on 5/29/2018, over 8 months after Hurricane Maria struck, the following words: “The situation is not over,” Dr. Marqués said. “We still have people without power, without running water, and it’s already hurricane season again.”

I do understand that access to the island & the interior was limited in the early days & still is limited in areas. But to have families running generators to live 8 months later is awful. They’re trying to patch up an outdated power grid that should have been replaced long ago.

The “government” of Puerto Rico deserves the most blame for this. Corruption, incompetence and no accountability left the infrastructure dysfunctional even before the hurricane.

The question we need to ask is, Did we do everything we could to save these people? The answer is NO! These people wouldn't have died if @BarackObama or @HillaryClinton were president! #PuertoRico

Probably it would not have made a difference - remember there was other hurricanes AND most importantly the fact that Puerto Rican government officials lied - they reported less than 100 dead

It’s amazing that in this day and age, they would try to get away with this lie. I am glad Harvard took the time to do this study. Shame on the PR government.

45 is responsible.... Puerto Rico was not important to him because not a real state, people speak Spanish & no business connections. 45 is a serial killer.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/global-development/2018/may/01/puerto-rico-after-hurricane-maria …. I am sure bribes from strip clubs & hooking up certain “ special” Puerto Rican’s contributed to that many deaths. House committee is trying to cover 45’s ass & their own, they knew this when they started that investigation.

We knew Trump was lying about the death toll. That island was decimated. There will still be more deaths resulting from Hurricane Maria. People are still suffering from it

Perhaps if the Puerto Rican liberal govt wasn’t so corrupt. Didn’t they hand out 100 million dollars in bonuses to their politicians?

Lol, maybe?! but they are still US citizens in Puerto Rico that did not get enough Federal aid. Also - @IvankaTrump (who works in the #WH) just got 13 new trademarks for her sweatshops in China over the weekend - now that is a fact. #nepotism #corruption
